Pilates Instructor and Personal Trainer Bio
Welcome to Personal Barre 805! My name is Clarisse. I'm a certified Pilates instructor, personal trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and author at SYNRG Fitness in Westlake Village where I focus on women's fitness. At our boutique studio, I offer hybrid Pilates and personal training to achieve weight loss, strength training, mobility, and flexibility, and post-rehabilitation fitness. SYNRG is a beautiful, quiet location serving the Thousand Oaks community where private Pilates classes and personal training can challenge you in an inspiring, supportive space. My approach to women's personal training is fun, motivating, and respectful, and with my background in both fitness and counseling, I can help you learn very quickly.
I received my certification as a personal trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist through NASM. In addition, I apply my education through the National Pilates Certification Program (NPCP) to design my private Pilates and Barre lessons. I've thoroughly enjoyed the programs' emphasis on exercise science, as well as the attention to detail paid to correct (and incorrect!) form on many exercises. They are awesome for accomplishing the overall goals most of my clients wished for: strength, weight loss, and in many cases, working around or even improving an injury.
Both Pilates and Barre emphasize stabilizing muscles, with Pilates focusing particularly on those in the core. In addition, the non-pounding aspects of both Pilates and Barre can provide a way to work the stabilizing muscles around the joints without sudden compression or overemphasizing a limited plane of movement. I blend these with a strategic selection of strength training and cardio from my education as a personal trainer. These maximize fat loss and toning!
Having a diverse training background has allowed me to work with clients from just about every fitness background imaginable. I work with ladies who have decided to make a positive change in their lives by achieving weight loss or better mobility, and I train former athletes and dancers who enjoy the familiarity of exercises from a barre studio.
Your health is an investment. The time and commitment you put into a customized fitness program, a positive teaching environment, proper instruction, and long-term solutions will have an impact physically, mentally, and emotionally for years to come. I'm looking forward to helping you gain confidence in your body, and to reveal your inner goddess!
